  Garner C. Churchill, Director

We were hosted by the Valley of Kelso. Pictured left is our host, Garner C. Churchill, Director. Hosting was excellent and Garner really out did him self in seeing that each guest was properly taken care of and everything right up to the dinner flowed smoothly.

Shortly before the meeting began, Merlin Smith (left) and Garner Churchill (right) were presented with a Proclamation from Deputy Mayor, Kathleen Johnson (center) and the City of Kelso.
The business meeting began as scheduled at 9am..

At lunch, four Shelton Fellows (see VIP's) from the Dan Evans School of Public Affairs at the University of Washington as well as two students in the Peace Corp Masters International (PCMI) program in the Dan Evans School spoke to the members about their programs and expressed their appreciation for the support of the Scottish Rite Scholarship Foundation of Washington. The PCMI program is for Peace Corp volunteers. These students work on a rigorous academic schedule, at the same time they are on a Peace Corp assignment, to earn their Master's degree.  Also we had a words of wisdom and thanks from the Board Excellence Project and a very insightful look into the Intercollegiate College of Nursing at the University of Washington.

And last but certainly not least, Bob Larsen, VP (Left), "Brother" Marilyn Larsen (Honorary Member) (Center) receive a gift from Merlin Smith (President) in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.  We must say, Bob and Marilyn are EXTREMELY dedicated to spend their Golden Anniversary with the Scottish Rite Scholarship Foundation.  The gift was purchased through donations from everybody in attendance.
